Hi, I’m Jeffrey Swindle. I am an Assistant Professor of Criminology, Law & Society at the University of California, Irvine, where I teach courses on quantitative and qualitative research methods, gender, inequality, and globalization. You can reach me at: jswindle@uci.edu.

My research covers the global diffusion of ideas and the influence of ideas on people’s behavior in specific contexts, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Malawi, Nepal, and the United States. At present, I am writing about the relationship between violence and migration under illiberalism (SocArXiv; ReVista). Previously, my article on “Pathways of Global Cultural Diffusion: Mass Media and People's Moral Declarations about Men's Violence against Women” was published in American Sociological Review. Other collaborative work appears in Social Forces, International Migration Review, Demography, and other journals.
